چکیده
Abstract This study considers regional variation of voice quality in two varieties British English – Southern Standard and West Yorkshire English. A comparison profiles for three closely related but not identical northern within is also considered. Our findings do contradict the small subset previous research which explored and/or social insofar as regionality may play a role speaker’s profile. However, factors such standing identity could perhaps be even more relevant. Even when considering homogeneous groups speakers, it case that there cohesive profile can attached to every speaker group. The reason this, we argue, speaker-specificity inherent quality.
